History – Anderson & Anderson Insurance, Inc.: A Family Legacy in Northeast Nebraska

Origins & Early Years

• 1973: After years of farming south of Hartington, NE, Tom Tideman joined Wirth‑Tideman Insurance as a partner and relocated the office to 226 N Broadway Ave, Hartington, NE where it stills stands today.
• 1984: Tom became the sole owner, rebranding the business as Tom Tideman Insurance, Inc. Wife, Kathy Tideman, soon joined as a producer.

Expansion & Next Generation

• 1990: Peg Anderson (Tom & Kathy’s daughter) joined the agency specializing in Life Insurance & and all forms of Property/Casualty.
• 1992: Peg and her husband, Steve, became stockholders. The agency also expanded by acquiring a Laurel office at 213 E 2nd St.
• 1998: A third location opened at 103 E Broadway in Coleridge, operating until Spring 2014, when operations consolidated back to Hartington.

Transition & Rebranding

• 2008: Tom retired, selling remaining shares to Peg and Steve.
• 2011: After 25 years in banking, and a lifetime of farming, Steve joined as a producing agent specializing in all forms of Property/Casualty & Crop Insurance.
• 2013: The agency was renamed Anderson & Anderson Insurance, Inc. and opened a new Allen office at 110 E 2nd St.

Third Generation Joins

• 2023: Grant Anderson, middle son of Peg and Steve, joined the agency, ushering in the 3^rd generation. Grant specializes in all forms of Property/Casualty and Crop Insurance.
