The agency now known as Anderson & Anderson Insurance, Inc. was originally founded in Hartington 1905. One of the original founders of the agency was A.J. Lammers; the great, great uncle of current owner Peg Anderson. Peg’s father, Tom Tideman, began his ownership in the agency in 1973 as one of the partners of Wirth-Tideman Insurance and moved his office to the current location at 226 North Broadway Avenue in Hartington. In 1984, Tom Tideman became the sole owner of the agency to be known as Tom Tideman Insurance, Inc.
In 1990, Peg Anderson, daughter of Tom Tideman, joined they agency and she and her husband Steve became stockholders in 1992. The agency soon expanded with the purchase of two additional locations. The Laurel location at 213 E 2nd Street was added in 1992 and in the spring of 1998 the third location at 103 E. Broadway in Coleridge was opened and operated until the spring of 2014 when those operations were moved to Hartington.
In 2008, Tom Tideman retired and sold the remaining shares of the agency to Peg and Steve Anderson. After 25 years in the banking industry, Steve joined the agency as a producing agent in 2011.
2013 brought exciting changes to the agency. A corporation name change was made and the new name selected was Anderson & Anderson Insurance. At the same time, the Allen location at 110 E 2nd Street was opened.
Anderson & Anderson Insurance is an independent, Trusted Choice insurance agency which sells all forms of property, casualty, and life insurance. Every one of our eight employees in our three locations is a licensed agent through the State of Nebraska. Because we are an independent insurance agency, when a customer comes in our office, we are able to match the customer’s needs with the company that has the best combination of price and coverage. Since we represent over ten insurance companies, we can tailor a policy to meet the needs of each unique customer.
